Heat In The Hood.

Cleverer than thou, London art-pop band The Chap released their fourth proper album a couple of weeks back. It's called 'Well Done Europe' and is well worth your (I'm sure) valuable time. An all knowing pithy humour transcends a turbulent, but groove-laden, generic mash that this listener finds pleasing to his ears and brains alike. Check out the video from their feel good hit of the summer, Even Your Friend:

Check out their recent interview with Drowned In Sound here.

Rad bands to check out

There are so many band's right now that are just killing it for me.Some you may already now and some who are just of the radar.

Trash Kit

So stoked to have the Kit playing along side the brilliant promoters ATTA girl in October. Will have more news on dates/venue when they become available.
Trash Kit are three riotous girl's who make punk that make's you dance on the spot. There song's are short but captivate your attention straight away. There very experimental in their own way and don't focus on just using drum's and guitar. There sound transcends to Jazz, African rhythm's and folk arrangement's in part's.Put it simply RAD live and you we all fall in love with them.

Their debut on Upset the Rhythm buy here

The Lawds

Garage lo- fi rock made by the nicest dude's around from London. They sent me a lovely message on our myspace which simply made me smile "We played W-ton once and it was pretty depressing". Well we hope to have them back in the Black Country and will show them a good time. Seriously their E.P which you can download for free via Band Camp is a mixture of early Black Lips with a English twist.

Download it here

Cold Pumas

Brighton three piece mixing the jangle, noise and big beat sound of early Joy Division to create a unique sound.
Totally loving this band right now. It's the fast pace sound of the drum's and guitar's mixed in with lead singer Patrick Fisher slow humming vocals. They resonate in my ears every-time i play them loud on my i-pod.

Scope out their myspace

Cleckhuddersfax

A fun band that sound more mental then The Flaming Lip's.
Cleckhuddersfax hail from London and make the most spazed out progressive new wave punk.I think you just have listen to them to get the picture.

Scope them here and get their L.p here

The Heebie Jeebies

Gonna plug this rad ass show because Im supper happy to have northern lads The Heebie Jeebies come down and play August 30th.A band that bring a glimmer of sunshine from their tropical beat sound's.

Scope them here and get ticket's for Not Cool + The Heebie Jeebies at Alchemy Here
