Shit it's finally here. It's finally been a year since i started doing Out Of Step.In all honesty it's totally crazy. After starting out as just a weekly club-night to putting on rad bands that i just wanna see and hear every month.
We hope you can all come celebrate our Birthday with the brilliant line up we have in store for you!!
It may run a bit late sorry on the day but will try are hardest.
Door's open at 5pm and we have reduced the door price to squeeze more of you into Alchemy bar.
What a rad line up of band's for a Monday night in Birmingham. Seriously amazing show in such a great venue that will be missed by all who grace it this week.I think a massive shout out need's to go out to Raya O Neil of it's Just Noise not just for last night but for making the Midlands scene good and keeping it alive. Also i would like to add a thank you the Basement bar for just being a rad little venue.
Cleverer than thou, London art-pop band The Chap released their fourth proper album a couple of weeks back. It's called 'Well Done Europe' and is well worth your (I'm sure) valuable time. An all knowing pithy humour transcends a turbulent, but groove-laden, generic mash that this listener finds pleasing to his ears and brains alike. Check out the video from their feel good hit of the summer, Even Your Friend:
Check out their recent interview with Drowned In Sound here.
There are so many band's right now that are just killing it for me.Some you may already now and some who are just of the radar.
So stoked to have the Kit playing along side the brilliant promoters ATTA girl in October. Will have more news on dates/venue when they become available.
Trash Kit are three riotous girl's who make punk that make's you dance on the spot. There song's are short but captivate your attention straight away. There very experimental in their own way and don't focus on just using drum's and guitar. There sound transcends to Jazz, African rhythm's and folk arrangement's in part's.Put it simply RAD live and you we all fall in love with them.
Garage lo- fi rock made by the nicest dude's around from London. They sent me a lovely message on our myspace which simply made me smile "We played W-ton once and it was pretty depressing". Well we hope to have them back in the Black Country and will show them a good time. Seriously their E.P which you can download for free via Band Camp is a mixture of early Black Lips with a English twist.
Brighton three piece mixing the jangle, noise and big beat sound of early Joy Division to create a unique sound.
Totally loving this band right now. It's the fast pace sound of the drum's and guitar's mixed in with lead singer Patrick Fisher slow humming vocals. They resonate in my ears every-time i play them loud on my i-pod.
Two piece (guitar/drums/dual vocals) noisey-punk-pop inspired by the likes of Husker Du, My Bloody Valentine and Black Flag who recently completed a tour of California playing renowned DIY venues such as The Smell (home of No Age, Mika Miko etc) and Burger Records store (Ty Segall, Jay Reatard ).
