Sounds abit WONKY to me

"Wonky is a term used to describe a tendency to use mid-range unstable synths that appeared before summer 2008, among arange of musical genres, including hip-hop, hyphy, grime, chiptune, dubstep, crunk, and eletro. It has also been suggested that wonky is a genre of music itself."

Hudson Mohawke debut album is out next week tilted 'Butter’. I managed to get a hold of a copy through a friend of friend. The elements that Hudson Mohawke creates are of a pop sensibility with the most twisted fuzzed out beats and samples that Aphix Twin could only dream of.The opening track ‘Shower Melody’ plays like a Motley Crew guitar solo played in reverse. That 80’s pop/rock theme comes across on record along with the air-brushed style cover. The most outstanding track is ‘ZooOOOoOOm’ a Spectrum odyssey with delayed out of beat beat-boxing over the top for good out of sink measure.
